NYC Part 2: The City

We drove from Cooperstown to the city early Friday morning. We left @ 5am and got to the airport to turn in our car @ 9am. We took a taxi to go to our hotel. We stayed at the Crown Plaza in time square. It was a fabulous hotel. They were doing some renovations in it so the floor we stayed on was completely brand new. The beds were so comfortable which was good cuz we were all exhausted by the time we got there. Ya we had a bit of a nap first thing. After we refueled we got on the tour bus and saw a lot of great sights. Empire State building, ground zero, The Trump Towers (Where Jeter and A Rod live). This is a picture of Kenyon and Hayden on the tour bus.
On Saturday we went to a Broadway show. We wanted to see Wicked but didn't have tickets so we walked to the theater just to see if we could get some and they had 8 tickets right by each other. So the boys decided they wanted to go. I wasn't convinced it would be worth buying tickets for the boys cuz I didn't think they would appreciate it like Kamberlyn and I would but they said they wanted to go. So we bought the tickets ,which weren't cheep, and went. It was the best thing I did when I was there. This show was so good. I can't wait for it to come to SLC cuz I am so going!! Kamberlyn felt the same way as I did so I asked the boys how they liked it and Kenyon tells me it was ok. (OK you have to be kidding me). Then Jon tops that by telling me he fell asleep in the first half!! (WHAT!! you are for sure kidding me)! I just spent $500, they could of at least lied right? Anyway I had to keep telling myself this was something we would probably never experience again (at least Jon and Kenyon!!) This is Kamberlyn and I before going to Wicked!!

On Sunday we took the subway into Queens and watched a Mets game. You can get tickets for next to nothing so we decided since Lynn and I were not going to the Yankees game we could go see the Mets. The played the Astros and lost. We did get free t-shirts though. The subway was an experience. I wasn't as scary as I thought it was going to be but I was glad I had Jon cuz I couldn't figure it out. This is the kids waiting for the subway.

Enjoying the New York Mets. (We were at the very top of the stadium in the nose bleed section!!)
This is us a dinner one night at the ESPN Zone. You couldn't eat for less than $60. (I will never complain about things being expensive in Utah again!)

On Monday we took the fairy out to see the Statue of Liberty. It was so amazing. More beautiful in person. We got there and waited in line so we could get good seats on the boat. Well we had these Jacks that just came and got in front of us. My friend came unglued. It was so rude but they didn't care one bit they told her that they were on vacation. (Can u believe the nerve!!)
Kamberlyn and I waiting to get on the fairy.

Jon and I on the fairy. The view of the city was so spectacular. I tried to picture the twin towers there. It was so sad. I couldn't imagine being anywhere near that place when something like 911 happened. There are so many people I was almost claustrophobic.

Kamberlyn decided she wanted to spend her money on this cartoon picture that people on the street were doing. Well it said $5.00. When they get done they tell you the frame is an extra $15.00. Your picture will rub off if you don't buy the frame!! So it cost her $20.00. She didn't care. She loved sitting there while they sketched her. We also went shopping in China Town for purses. I loved going into the back secret rooms and having all theses designer peruses to choose from. In fact I loved it so much I made Jon take me back on Tuesday. I ended up with 7 purses. (Not all for me of course) I LOVED IT!!

On Tuesday night the boy went to the Yankees Game. The played the Boston Red socks. Jon said it was the most amazing experience ever. The tickets were sooo expensive so I decided it wasn't worth getting one for Kamberlyn and I. We stayed at the hotel, had dinner and a piece of cheesecake.

This is Jon and Kenyon at monument park. Jon said it was a mad dash when the gates opened cuz they only let so many people in. This was the final season at the old Yankees stadium. The new one is right across the street. It was pretty cool to be able to have them experience that as father and son. Jon said the history at that stadium was unbelievable.

YES this is A Rod going into the stadium.

And this is Mariano Rivera (Sorry don't think I spelled it right!)

This is our friends the Woodwards. They came with us on the trip.

We had such an amazing time. It was definitely a long time to be gone (almost 2 weeks). I missed Klaire like you couldn't believe. I was so thankful I have great family that took care of her cuz she would have been so hard to take with us. NYC was a fantastic experience that I was glad to be able to share with my family. I can't wait to go back (in 2 years with Kenyon's baseball team!!)
