CHAMPIONS

WOW!! We had a great weekend of baseball. The boys played in a tournament in Malad Idaho this weekend. They went undefeated and took the championship!! It was so exciting. They were fabulous. Everyone hit and they played some amazing defence. We played 4 games total. They ended up scoring 58 runs and only allowing 9 against them. Kenyon hit a home run in the first game we played and yes I had my video camera rolling like a good mom does but no I didn't make sure the battery was charged so it died just as he was up to bat. Bummer!! He was so excited to finally get a true home run. He had one other this season but it was a inside the park home run. Also 5 of the other boys almost hit home runs. They hit it clear to the fence just a little extra and it would have been over.

It was a bitter-sweet weekend because we are done with this season of baseball. Most of our boys play football in the fall so this means Kenyon will go play with a older team for fall ball. Spring ball is always so much fun and I look forward to it all winter long. Kenyon loves it so much and Jon and I have become really close to the boys and their parents so it's hard to lose them but the team Kenyon is playing with is also a lot of fun. (We actually played with them the very first season.)

I love this picture of Jon and Kenyon. Father and son, coach and player. I couldn't be prouder of my boys. They have both worked so hard to have a successful season.

This was the final hit to win the game. Hyatt #21 hit it and all the boys went running on the field to congratulate him and of course each other. Being on a team teaches you a lot about life. I know each one of these boys are learning important lessons about teamwork, discipline, and friendships.
Have I mentioned how much I love baseball?

The countdown is on for Cooperstown NY. It is a huge tournament where 96 teams participate. We are so excited to be able to watch Kenyon play @ this tournament. He is going with a team 2 years older than him which says a lot about his abilities. I have always wanted to go to New York and see the city so we couldn't pass up this amazing opportunity for Kenyon. I will keep you posted.
