We wish you...

A Merry Christmas!!

Can you believe it is over already..So sad..

Well the kids got spoiled as usual. Santa brought a DVD system for our Yukon. We wanted one when we got the car last year and was so glad that Santa knew that. Kenyon had no idea what the headphones were for. He just kept asking Where did Santa hide the presents?? Finally Kamberlyn put it together. She said "hey these are like the headphones in Karibeth's car."
OH NO HE DIDN'T..
It was so funny!

(The girls enjoying a movie on the way to Grandmas house). Oh ya and Jon and I enjoyed the silence!! HALLELUJAH
They also got clothes, guitar hero for Wii and a couple of other Wii games. Jon got a snow blower. He tried to buy one last year when we had a nasty storm but everyone across the Wasatch front had sold out of them. Needless to say that wasn't going to happen again this year so he went shopping early. He loves it!! I wish I would have gotten a picture of his face on the first snow fall we had. It was priceless. BOYS and their TOYS.. go figure.

Klaire was a lot of fun this year. She kept saying Happy Birthday to me. Her birthday was in October so she associates opening presents with birthdays. She had the funniest look on her face when we told her she could finally open presents. They had been sitting under the tree for a couple of weeks, she would carry them around wanting to open them and we would tell her she had to wait tell Christmas. OK she is 2 it was hard on her.

FYI: Santa brought these darling hats for the girls. I think he had a helper @ http://www.alihats.blogspot.com/.

Top of Utah Tournament
Saturday December 13th Kenyon's basketball team competed in the Top of Utah Tournament at Skyview High School. We started the day at 8:00 in the morning and ended at 8:00 at night. They played 5 games and won the Tournament. GO BEARS!!!!The boys played hard each game. It was such a long day that by the last game you could see both teams were beat (tired). There was a lot going on, Jake got his feet taken out from underneath him and landed on his elbow. Yes that picture is of his elbow, not a knee. It swollen so quickly he had to sit out the last game. His parents took him to the ER and it was not broken. Triston Merritt played so hard, I think he feet grew. His foot broke through his shoes. Chase was thrown down trying to get a ball away from a kid. Chase was so mad he was going to go after the kid. Triston had to hold him back. (i have never seen chase get mad)Kenyon rocked on the rebounds!! He is the one that saved us on every game. Triston Hartfiel plays with such heart. Basketball is his game. I love to watch him run the court it's awesome. ALL the boys did really well. They get better and better every game. We played some good teams and not such good teams.
Scores
BR vs SkyViewYoung Guns 34-18
BR vs Star Valley Braves 33-11
BR vs Ballers 29-23
BR vs Logan Grizz 26-15
BR vs Preston 25-20

I stole this off of my friend Michelle's blog. I tried to get the pictures but can't figure out how to do that. Michelle you will have to send them to me.

Birthdays, Baptisms and other stuff

Kenyon Turns 11
WOW!! I have an 11 year old. It is so hard to believe. Where does the time go? I can still remember the first time I saw him. So perfect, so little and all mine. Now eleven short years later and here he is hanging out with his friends, asking for a cell phone, and liking girls!! I am so not ready for this. Can we turn back the clock some how?

We took him and some friends bowling. He was hoping to invite some girls but we talked him out of that thank goodness.

Here he is playing pool. He is so good at billiards even though we don't have a table. He watches it on T.V. so he knows the rules.

Eating pizza with the boys. Keetch, Triston, Nate, Carson, and Jake.

Grandma Sylvia

Grandma Sylvia came up from Spanish Fork to be with Kamberlyn on her baptism. The kids were so excited to see her. Klaire kept saying "I so excited to see grandma sylv."
Oh so cute!!
Jon and Klaire playing pin ball.

I love this picture!
This is our dear friend Matt. He absolutely adores Klaire as she does him.
Kamberlyn gets Baptized
Kamberlyn was baptized on December 6, 2008 by my brother Ryan Talbot. She has been so excited for this day and has been preparing for it for months. It turned out amazing. We have such great family and friends who came to support her.
Our family-Grandma Sylvia and Aunt Susan,
Grandma Sharon, Uncle Ryan and Brinley,
Uncle Shane, Katie, Jardie, Kayson, and Brock.
Our friends- Matt, Jamie, Keetch, Kenner, and Mattie Mecham.
Scott, Heather, Nate, Jake, and Kate Dahle.
Jerian, Triston, and Shayden Merritt.
Lisa, Ethan, Hannah, and Ashton Harrow.
She received so many wonderful gifts from everyone. I know it meant a lot to her that you all came to support her. Love you all!!

** Funny Kalire moment...
When Klaire saw Kamberlyn She blurts out
"sissy in a little swimming pool, I want to go swimming with you ."

Trimming the Tree
So we had had our tree up since before Thanksgiving but couldn't decorate it because some of the lights were out. Curse the pre-lite trees. They are fabulous when every light works but man if something goes wrong good luck. Anyway Jon worked on it for hours and hours. Not to mention all the trips to about 5 different stores to find the right bulbs. We finally got to decorate it last night. YEA! We love you honey Thanks!!

**One funny side note about Klaire. She has the most amazing vocabulary. Some days I just shake my head at the grown up things that come out of her mouth. (I had to write this down somewhere before I forget.)
I was fixing her hair the other day and when I got done she looked in the mirror and said
" Oh thanks mom, it's super cute". Isn't she super cute?

Family Pictures

I have been wanting to get our pictures done forever. My Friend Natalie was kind enough to take them for us. It was so hard to get a good picture of all of us. (Natalie is 9 months pregnant and nearly sat on a old rusty nail trying to get some good shots) Maybe it would have been easier if my husband wouldn't have been in such a hurry. N-E-WAY here are some of my favorites.

Thanks Nat!! I know it wasn't easy.

The scooter wrecker

Funny story! There were 5 couples that went to Cancun. We took the boat over to Cozumel for the day, when we got there we rented scouters. We spent the day driving down the coast. Every once in a while we would stop and get in the ocean to go snorkeling. Well we decided that when we left the girls were gonna take a turn driving. We all go on our scooters. All of a sudden Cami(the girl standing in the picture) hit the gas and went flying into all the bushes. The rest of us could do nothing but laugh. I did manage to grab my camera to capture the Kodak moment. (Cami was very mad at me.) Needless to say not one of the guys would let their wives drive after that. OH GOOD TIMES!!

I tag Candice, Mandi, Keribeth and Kalli

A Decade

10 years!! I can hardly believe it. It sure doesn't seem like that long. What is even scarier is we have been together for almost 16 years. We met when we were sophomores in high school. We have moved once, had 8 different cars and trucks, 1 dog, 3 cats, and a fish, and 2 many job promotions to count. Happy anniversary Jon.
I thought I would tell you all 10 things I love about my husband.

1- He never gives up.
2- His beautiful blue eyes
3- He gave me a son and 2 daughters
4- He finally agreed to have one more child(AKA Klaire)
5- He is so talented, he can fix anything
6- He works hard everyday
7- He has so much ambition
8- He supported and encouraged me in going back to school
9- He is a great mentor and coach for his son
10- He loves affection

Halloween and Basketball

We had a fun Halloween. The kids had a costume parade at school. They get to put on their costumes and walk around all the classrooms at school. Then they gather in the gym to sing and give out awards for the best costumes. I think ours is the only grade school that still allows costumes. Anyway here they are at school. Kenyon was a hippie,
Klaire Raggedy Anne, and Kamberlyn a pirate.

We went to our wards trunk or treat. Klaire thought it was pretty neat. She got the hang of it pretty quick. In fact she was mad when I wouldn't let her go back for more treats.
After the trunk or treat the kids wanted to go door to door (ya know like the good old days when I was a kid.) So we took them to our old neighborhood. They loved that. Then we went with one of our friends to her friends house. She had a picture studio set up in her house and took pictures of the kids. (I will post them when I get them.) After that we went down to Wingers and had dinner with friends. Thanks to Matt, Jamie and Jerianne for a great night.

Triston, Keetch, and Kenyon (GROOVY!!)

BASKETBALL has also started for Kenyon. Just like baseball he plays on a comp team. We have games every Saturday in Logan. He really loves to play. (Not as much as he loves baseball). He plays with most of the boys that are on his baseball team so that is so much fun for him. He is improving so much. I am very proud of him for going out of his comfort zone (baseball) and trying new things.

Our first games this season were at a tournament in Ogden. They played 3 games. They all did so awesome. They won all three games and took home a first place trophy!! Here they are after they won.

.Coach Scott, Bridger, Nate, Kenyon, Triston, Jake, and Chase. (We were missing our other Tristen. He had to leave after the 2nd game. We couldn't have done it without you Tristen!!)

FALL BALL

As most of you know, we are crazy about baseball. Kenyon would play it all year long if the weather permitted! This year for fall ball Kenyon played with the team 1 year older than him. He had such a great time, and learned tons of things that will benefit him in the spring. It was so fun to be on the same team with these boys again. (We played with most of them a couple of years ago.) Every one of the boys have improved tremendously. They all encourage each other and make one another strive to be better ball players. Kenyon is very lucky to have had the opportunity of being a part of a fantastic team.

My baby is 2!!

Sad but true. My Klaire-bug turned 2 on Oct 5th. We had a pretty low key day. I was on call so we just hung at the house and had cake and ice cream. We had her cake made by Connie. She makes the most fabulous cake ever. Jon requests it for every birthday but usually only gets it once a year because she is so busy.

Klaire LOVES Dora the Explorer so we got her Dora balloons and cake.

Later that day we went to my brother Ryan's house to do a combined party for his boy Zach and Klaire. We ate, opened presents, and had some fabulous cheese cake. It was so nice to spend time with my family.

*** She ended up puking for 2 days after. Maybe it had something to do with all the cake!!

Only when I want 2!!

Klaire will potty on the toilet but it has to be her idea. She loves to wear her big girl panties, and tells me every morning I wear big girl panties. She also tells me she will not potty in her big girl panties. Most the time she comes running and says she peed in her panties. There are those times that she will actually go potty in her toilet. We all praise her and tell her how big she is. She is a stubborn little fart. I don't remember this being so difficult of a thing. Kamberlyn was trained @ 23 months. She just did it on her own. Kenyon was a bit longer but was trained @ 2 and a half. (Pretty good for a boy). Maybe I just expect her to be like her sister and clearly she is not. Well one of these days we will be done buying diapers. I CAN'T WAIT!!

I just thought this was a cute picture of Jon's little biker babe!!

NYC Part 2: The City

We drove from Cooperstown to the city early Friday morning. We left @ 5am and got to the airport to turn in our car @ 9am. We took a taxi to go to our hotel. We stayed at the Crown Plaza in time square. It was a fabulous hotel. They were doing some renovations in it so the floor we stayed on was completely brand new. The beds were so comfortable which was good cuz we were all exhausted by the time we got there. Ya we had a bit of a nap first thing. After we refueled we got on the tour bus and saw a lot of great sights. Empire State building, ground zero, The Trump Towers (Where Jeter and A Rod live). This is a picture of Kenyon and Hayden on the tour bus.
On Saturday we went to a Broadway show. We wanted to see Wicked but didn't have tickets so we walked to the theater just to see if we could get some and they had 8 tickets right by each other. So the boys decided they wanted to go. I wasn't convinced it would be worth buying tickets for the boys cuz I didn't think they would appreciate it like Kamberlyn and I would but they said they wanted to go. So we bought the tickets ,which weren't cheep, and went. It was the best thing I did when I was there. This show was so good. I can't wait for it to come to SLC cuz I am so going!! Kamberlyn felt the same way as I did so I asked the boys how they liked it and Kenyon tells me it was ok. (OK you have to be kidding me). Then Jon tops that by telling me he fell asleep in the first half!! (WHAT!! you are for sure kidding me)! I just spent $500, they could of at least lied right? Anyway I had to keep telling myself this was something we would probably never experience again (at least Jon and Kenyon!!) This is Kamberlyn and I before going to Wicked!!

On Sunday we took the subway into Queens and watched a Mets game. You can get tickets for next to nothing so we decided since Lynn and I were not going to the Yankees game we could go see the Mets. The played the Astros and lost. We did get free t-shirts though. The subway was an experience. I wasn't as scary as I thought it was going to be but I was glad I had Jon cuz I couldn't figure it out. This is the kids waiting for the subway.

Enjoying the New York Mets. (We were at the very top of the stadium in the nose bleed section!!)
This is us a dinner one night at the ESPN Zone. You couldn't eat for less than $60. (I will never complain about things being expensive in Utah again!)

On Monday we took the fairy out to see the Statue of Liberty. It was so amazing. More beautiful in person. We got there and waited in line so we could get good seats on the boat. Well we had these Jacks that just came and got in front of us. My friend came unglued. It was so rude but they didn't care one bit they told her that they were on vacation. (Can u believe the nerve!!)
Kamberlyn and I waiting to get on the fairy.

Jon and I on the fairy. The view of the city was so spectacular. I tried to picture the twin towers there. It was so sad. I couldn't imagine being anywhere near that place when something like 911 happened. There are so many people I was almost claustrophobic.

Kamberlyn decided she wanted to spend her money on this cartoon picture that people on the street were doing. Well it said $5.00. When they get done they tell you the frame is an extra $15.00. Your picture will rub off if you don't buy the frame!! So it cost her $20.00. She didn't care. She loved sitting there while they sketched her. We also went shopping in China Town for purses. I loved going into the back secret rooms and having all theses designer peruses to choose from. In fact I loved it so much I made Jon take me back on Tuesday. I ended up with 7 purses. (Not all for me of course) I LOVED IT!!

On Tuesday night the boy went to the Yankees Game. The played the Boston Red socks. Jon said it was the most amazing experience ever. The tickets were sooo expensive so I decided it wasn't worth getting one for Kamberlyn and I. We stayed at the hotel, had dinner and a piece of cheesecake.

This is Jon and Kenyon at monument park. Jon said it was a mad dash when the gates opened cuz they only let so many people in. This was the final season at the old Yankees stadium. The new one is right across the street. It was pretty cool to be able to have them experience that as father and son. Jon said the history at that stadium was unbelievable.

YES this is A Rod going into the stadium.

And this is Mariano Rivera (Sorry don't think I spelled it right!)

This is our friends the Woodwards. They came with us on the trip.

We had such an amazing time. It was definitely a long time to be gone (almost 2 weeks). I missed Klaire like you couldn't believe. I was so thankful I have great family that took care of her cuz she would have been so hard to take with us. NYC was a fantastic experience that I was glad to be able to share with my family. I can't wait to go back (in 2 years with Kenyon's baseball team!!)
