Only when I want 2!!

Klaire will potty on the toilet but it has to be her idea. She loves to wear her big girl panties, and tells me every morning I wear big girl panties. She also tells me she will not potty in her big girl panties. Most the time she comes running and says she peed in her panties. There are those times that she will actually go potty in her toilet. We all praise her and tell her how big she is. She is a stubborn little fart. I don't remember this being so difficult of a thing. Kamberlyn was trained @ 23 months. She just did it on her own. Kenyon was a bit longer but was trained @ 2 and a half. (Pretty good for a boy). Maybe I just expect her to be like her sister and clearly she is not. Well one of these days we will be done buying diapers. I CAN'T WAIT!!

I just thought this was a cute picture of Jon's little biker babe!!

NYC Part 2: The City

We drove from Cooperstown to the city early Friday morning. We left @ 5am and got to the airport to turn in our car @ 9am. We took a taxi to go to our hotel. We stayed at the Crown Plaza in time square. It was a fabulous hotel. They were doing some renovations in it so the floor we stayed on was completely brand new. The beds were so comfortable which was good cuz we were all exhausted by the time we got there. Ya we had a bit of a nap first thing. After we refueled we got on the tour bus and saw a lot of great sights. Empire State building, ground zero, The Trump Towers (Where Jeter and A Rod live). This is a picture of Kenyon and Hayden on the tour bus.
On Saturday we went to a Broadway show. We wanted to see Wicked but didn't have tickets so we walked to the theater just to see if we could get some and they had 8 tickets right by each other. So the boys decided they wanted to go. I wasn't convinced it would be worth buying tickets for the boys cuz I didn't think they would appreciate it like Kamberlyn and I would but they said they wanted to go. So we bought the tickets ,which weren't cheep, and went. It was the best thing I did when I was there. This show was so good. I can't wait for it to come to SLC cuz I am so going!! Kamberlyn felt the same way as I did so I asked the boys how they liked it and Kenyon tells me it was ok. (OK you have to be kidding me). Then Jon tops that by telling me he fell asleep in the first half!! (WHAT!! you are for sure kidding me)! I just spent $500, they could of at least lied right? Anyway I had to keep telling myself this was something we would probably never experience again (at least Jon and Kenyon!!) This is Kamberlyn and I before going to Wicked!!

On Sunday we took the subway into Queens and watched a Mets game. You can get tickets for next to nothing so we decided since Lynn and I were not going to the Yankees game we could go see the Mets. The played the Astros and lost. We did get free t-shirts though. The subway was an experience. I wasn't as scary as I thought it was going to be but I was glad I had Jon cuz I couldn't figure it out. This is the kids waiting for the subway.

Enjoying the New York Mets. (We were at the very top of the stadium in the nose bleed section!!)
This is us a dinner one night at the ESPN Zone. You couldn't eat for less than $60. (I will never complain about things being expensive in Utah again!)

On Monday we took the fairy out to see the Statue of Liberty. It was so amazing. More beautiful in person. We got there and waited in line so we could get good seats on the boat. Well we had these Jacks that just came and got in front of us. My friend came unglued. It was so rude but they didn't care one bit they told her that they were on vacation. (Can u believe the nerve!!)
Kamberlyn and I waiting to get on the fairy.

Jon and I on the fairy. The view of the city was so spectacular. I tried to picture the twin towers there. It was so sad. I couldn't imagine being anywhere near that place when something like 911 happened. There are so many people I was almost claustrophobic.

Kamberlyn decided she wanted to spend her money on this cartoon picture that people on the street were doing. Well it said $5.00. When they get done they tell you the frame is an extra $15.00. Your picture will rub off if you don't buy the frame!! So it cost her $20.00. She didn't care. She loved sitting there while they sketched her. We also went shopping in China Town for purses. I loved going into the back secret rooms and having all theses designer peruses to choose from. In fact I loved it so much I made Jon take me back on Tuesday. I ended up with 7 purses. (Not all for me of course) I LOVED IT!!

On Tuesday night the boy went to the Yankees Game. The played the Boston Red socks. Jon said it was the most amazing experience ever. The tickets were sooo expensive so I decided it wasn't worth getting one for Kamberlyn and I. We stayed at the hotel, had dinner and a piece of cheesecake.

This is Jon and Kenyon at monument park. Jon said it was a mad dash when the gates opened cuz they only let so many people in. This was the final season at the old Yankees stadium. The new one is right across the street. It was pretty cool to be able to have them experience that as father and son. Jon said the history at that stadium was unbelievable.

YES this is A Rod going into the stadium.

And this is Mariano Rivera (Sorry don't think I spelled it right!)

This is our friends the Woodwards. They came with us on the trip.

We had such an amazing time. It was definitely a long time to be gone (almost 2 weeks). I missed Klaire like you couldn't believe. I was so thankful I have great family that took care of her cuz she would have been so hard to take with us. NYC was a fantastic experience that I was glad to be able to share with my family. I can't wait to go back (in 2 years with Kenyon's baseball team!!)

NYC part 1: COOPERSTOWN

Well we just spent 2 count them 2 weeks in NYC. The reason for the trip was for Kenyon. He went with the Bear River Blue Devils to play baseball in Cooperstown, NY. For those of you who don't know ,Cooperstown is a huge tournament that goes on in this tiny town in New York. The week we went 99 other teams were also there from all around the United States. The boys and couches stay in dorm like rooms the entire week. Kenyon and Jon had so much fun. Jon said it reminded him of scout camp!! Kenyon said his favorite part was the pin trading and around the horn contest. Pin trading seemed to be a fave among most of the boys. They got some pretty cool pins from different players and umpires.

Day 1: Opening Ceremonies

They picked some moms and dads from the crowd to be a part of the opening ceremonies. Ya that is me out there!! It was fun, they had us dance and sing. I also got a free t-shirt for participating. They had all the teams parade around the field. It was pretty packed when all 99 teams got into the park. Then they had a few different competitions. The golden arm which Isaac Madison did. The Home run Derby that Tyler Buxton did and running the bases which Taylor Lund did. Taylor took 8th place in that event. That is 8 out of 99 boys, pretty darn fast huh? The rest of the team competed in the around the horn. They did fabulous but not good enough to place. This is a picture of Kenyon saving us a ten second penalty with his fantastic dig.
The rest of the week was filled with baseball games. 2 every day to be exact. Ya they were pretty tired by the end of the week. We ended up play 9 games before we got eliminated. It was amazing to watch some of these teams play. Jon said at the championship game every boy on both teams was bigger than he is. Keep in mind these are 12 year olds.

Here are some cool pictures of Kenyon that I got!!

Kamberlyn and I had lots of fun during the week. We shopped, ate a ton, and mostly did lots of game watching. We stayed in a house with some of the other moms and had a terrific time.It was really nice to spend time with her one on one and I know Jon feels the same way about his time alone with Kenyon.

This is a cute picture of Kamberlyn and Skyler cheering on the boys!!

On like the 3rd day Kenyon #5 was playing 3rd base. The ball was hit to him, it took a nasty hop and hit him in nose! OUCH!!! Needless to say he left the game to make sure his nose wasn't broke. Luckily it wasn't!! I did happen to capture the whole thing on film. The first picture is him running up on the ball that was just hit his way, the second is the ball bouncing off his nose ( it's the white blurr you can see), and the third is him visiting the infirmary.

The rest of these are just some fun pictures I took of our fantastic week. What a fabulous experience for Kenyon. We were so lucky the Blue Devils invited him to go with them. Both Jon and I can't wait to go back in 2 years with our baseball boys. We had better start saving NOW!!
